This week I learned how to use Google Ads to know how popular are search key words and phrases in terms of monthly impressions and demand. The monthly impressions will give you a sense of the "demand" of that words and the demand will give you and idea of how successful business are related to those words. The reasoning behind that conclusion is that business won't invest in business that are not profitable, therefore those business will have a low demand.
The tool that helps you to get that information is the "Keyword Planner", under the planning group of tools. Once there you have to remember that there is a way to get that information for free, it's just that Google sometimes change the format of the website and the instructions vary. What you have to remember is to skip the guided beginning and the offer to start a new campaign. If that fails and you only want to use that feature the best way is to create a new account.
Lastly, this is a good way to get objective information about keywords and you must be careful about its interpretation, which may be tricky, but it's just a matter of being careful.
