Social Media & Marketing

This week we learned about the importance of Social Media in marketing.
I haven’t thought much about that, but we read some articles that made clear that the more we invest in Social Media (not just talking about money), the more we will get in our business. Social media has a vast number of users. If we are able to use it wisely we can increase the traffic to our websites and ultimately our sales.

The main activity to do in this topic is to develop a social media marketing plan. Some ideas I got during this week for that end are:

Establishing clear goals
Both measurable and attainable.

Making my content segmented
I need to listen to what my audience is interested in and produce content related to those topics.

Making my content searchable
I need to review the words I’m using and adjust them to those used by my audience.

Learn to speak spider
This means learning to write having search engines in mind. The key word here is: FISHIES Frequency, Interesting, Structure, Headings, Inbound links, Engagement, Sitemap.

Creating diverse content
I have to consider including videos, not just images and texts.

Allocating budget to social media
Finally, I need to spend in social media in order to see results.

All these are great ideas to improve our social media efforts!
